President's Message

Happy September!

September brings all sorts of good things—kids go back to school, schedules resume, color is abundant with the change in leaves, and Labor Day kicks it all off! As your new president, I am excited to be kicking off this year’s festivities as they relate to NAPM-CP. We are back to our labors with enthusiasm and excitement!

Your NAPM Board of Directors met twice this summer to ensure we have the best possible programs and events for your education and enjoyment. We met to discuss our challenges as well and to put into place resolutions for those challenges. We are ready to go but we need your help to make all these well laid plans ones of success.

How can you help?

  1. Attend a meeting—there are four dinner meetings this coming year—September, October, November, and next May.
  2. Attend an event—there are five events—an ISM seminar in November, the Christmas Party in December, a tour in February, the Trade Fair in March, and the awarding of Scholarships in April.
  3. Attend the Professional Development classes held before each dinner meeting.
  4. Support the Board of Directors by volunteering at the events and by encouraging new people to join the organization.

How can we help you?

  1. We have four strong dinner meetings:
    1. September—a roundtable discussion on best practices for doing business. Come and win a great prize!
    2. October—noted speaker, Jim Haile, on risk management and business continuity.
    3. November—ISM seminar and ISM speaker, Jan Miller, at dinner meeting.
    4. May, 2012—The swearing in of new officers and a strong “Wrapping Up the Year” Roundtable discussion.
  2. We have four exciting (and fun) events:
    1. December—a family Christmas party complete with our very own Santa Claus. Enjoy the buffet dinner, music, games and presents for the children
    2. February 2012—plant tour to be announced this fall.
    3. March—Annual Trade Fair complete with guest speakers.
    4. April—Scholarship awards and networking with students.
  3. We are getting the word out! We have been working hard on our Marketing Plan and will share more of that with you at our fall meetings. We will be publicizing our events and dinners. We are reaching out with social media. If you haven’t signed into our LinkedIn account, you simply must!

We know how stretched you are with busy work schedules and personal lifestyles, but NAPM-CP needs your presence. We need your experience and your thoughts. We need you to help make us strong again. Your dues are paid, the dinners are free, and the company is outstanding and lively. Come join us, network, relax for a bit, and help us grow to where we were in years gone by. Please?
